These characters were created for the Appalachian folk song “Cumberland Gap” which featured an Appalachian man and his wife for the music video. The style was based off of existing character models from the curriculum and I designed their costumes by researching period-appropriate clothing and exploring options through sketching, then finalizing the designs as vector illustrations. The male character was also designed with joints that allowed him to be posed easily for different scenes throughout the story.
